| Day 1 |

Arrival
The tour members arrive at Keflavík Airport, Iceland. They take the bus from Keflavík to Reykjavík (BSÍ). They will be greeted by representatives of Eldhestar at 17.30 - 18.00, who will arrange further transportation to the farm Vellir in the neighborhood of Hveragerði. The first evening we all have dinner together and Eldhestar provides details about the next few days. |
| Day 2 |

Hveragerdi - Fellsmúli - Hólaskógur
From Hveragerdi, in the Ölfus municipality, we drive to the farm Fellsmúli near the Mt. Hekla volcano. The riding tour starts there, and we follow the soft paths through a birch forest,to the old farm Skarfanes. On our way to Tröllkonuhlaup we pass the waterfall Thjófafoss. From there, we ride over the sand to the hut Hólaskógur where we spend the night. 50-60 km, 9 hrs. |
| Day 3 |

Hólaskógur - Bjarnalækjabotnar
We ride from Hólaskógur north in the direction of the glaciers Hofsjökull and Langjökull. Instead of riding east of Thjórsá as we do on our Sprengisandur tour we now ride west of the river. Here on our way we have a nice scenery in all directions, but here glaciers and the mountain Arnarfell are having all our admirations. We stay at Bjarnalaekjabotnar, which is a primitive mountain hut, but cozy at the same time. Distance: 40 km. 7 - 8 hrs. |

Bjarnalaekjabotnar - Kerlingafjöll
We follow a nice riding path further north in the direction of Kerlingafjöll. These mountains are Icelanders largest skiing paradise in Iceland. Here you meet the glaciers as well as hot springs. At Kerlingafjöll you have the possibility to take a bath in nice hot pots, while enjoying the view in the wilderness. 38 km and 6- 7 hrs. |
| Day 5 |

Kerlingafjöll - Árbúdir
Here we ride west and have the glacier Hofsjökull on our right side, while we have the glacier Langjökull in front of us. Here we are on our way to the old route between the south and north, Kjölur. 37 km, 6-7 hrs. |
| Day 6 |

Árbúdir - Fremstaver
Rivers and mountains will guide us to our next destination. We start by following Svartá River with Bláfell in our sight. We pass the waterfall Ábóta, and cross the Hvítá River over a bridge. Between Bláfell and Hvítá we continue our road to the mountain hut, Fremstaver. 40 km, 8 hrs. |
| Day 7 |

Fremstaver - Geysir
Now we ride down, down towards Hvítá. We follow Hvítá south until we reach a dessert of stones and black sand. We pass Gullfoss and ride from the wilderness into the civilization. When we reach Geysir we have the luxury to soak in one of the hot pots of Geysir. 35km, 7hrs. |

Laugarvatn - Vellir - Reykjavík
The day starts with a sight seeing. We visit Geysir and the impressive waterfall Gullfoss. This last day we will start at Laugarvatn and ride towards Kringlumýri a hut betweem Laugarvatn and Thingvellir. From Kringlumýri we continue along soft riding paths called Driftin. Here we have a nice view over Lake Thingvallavatn. We will end the tour close to the water power station Ljósafossvirkjun built in 1937, one of the first water power stations in Iceland. From Ljósafossvirkjun we say goodbye to the horses and continue our trip by car first to Eldhestar's farm and then further to Reykjavík. 30km, 6-7hrs. |

Departure
Tour members take the bus to Keflavik Airport on their own.
