| Day 1 |
Welcome at Ouarzazate Airport.Transfert and. Night in the hotel. Check-in Welcome Meeting with the trek team |
| Day 2 |
Transfer by taxi or minibus to Zagora, about 2:30 away to the departure point. Meeting with the horses allocating riders. And we begin to ride following the Draa valley, through palm groves and irrigation channels. We'll be passing through typical Kasbah villages, known as Ksar. At the end of the ride, we camp or stay with local people, in their own homes (depending on weather and the number of riders) |
| Day 3 |
This journey will bring us trotting and gallopping to Draa Gorge, where the river crosses a rocky barrier. We'll picnic close to the ruins of a real Ksar before going down toward Tagounit and its palm groves where we'll set camp for the night under the stars |
| Day 4 |
After crossing the Foum Larsam pass, we'll have a fantastic view of sand dunes around M'Hamid, our objective for the day. There too the terrain will give us the chance to gallop. By way of a change, we'll spend the night inside a traditional nomade camp enjoying the hospitality of Draa inhabitants |
| Day 5 |
Today the sand dunes are waiting for us and to meet them, the only way is to leave the safe shadow of the groves to walk in the Sahara, where dry rivers and furnace-like air await us: Then, in the middle of nowhere, a well - an oasis - where we'll set up camp |
| Day 6 |
Sometimes sand - "erg", sometimes stone - "reg", the desert is all around us, Saharan trails, criss-crossing each other. Far away, the relief of a small mountain range. At the end of the day, the rocks become pink and purple simultaneously under the sunset light. Last camp close to a well used by Saharan families, and in the distance, the light shadow of the hills around Zagora, on the horizon |
| Day 7 |
This morning, an early start to reach in Zagora for the picnic. Last trots and last gallop, and here appears the protective shadow of palm trees, fresh from the channel water, and again the river Draa. It's the end of the trek. An emotional goodbye to the guides and horses. Return by taxi or minibus to Ouarzazate with a stop on the road in Agdz where we'll leave the magical valley. Arrival in Ouarzazate. Check in the hotel |
