Cheltenham Gold Cup winner and four time winner of King George VI Chase,
Desert Orchid died this week.
Dessie, the much loved steeplechaser won 34 races during his 10 year career at the top of the horse racing game.
At the age of 27 Dessie was one of
the best known race horses in the UK and
worldwide.
The grey gelding, foaled 11 April
1979, died peacefully in his stable at
Egerton Stables in Newmarket on 13th
November 2006.
Desert Orchids ashes are going to be
taken to Kempton Park Race Course.
