Ten time world champion Gill's Bay
Boy, affectionately known as
Scamper, has been successfully cloned.
Charmayne James Barrel Racing
Champion and owner of Scamper paid
$150,000 to clone Scamper.
The foal, named Clayton, is almost a
double of Scamper except for a white
diamond between his eyes.
Scamper won 10 Professional Rodeo
Cowboy Association world championships
between 1984 and 1993 putting himself in
the Pro Rodeo Hall of Fame and helping
Charmayne James become the first million
dollar cowgirl in the process.
Cloning is a controversial subject
and the American Quarter Horse
Association will not allow any cloned
horse to compete in any of their
sponsored competitions. However, PRCA
has no such restriction so Clayton will
be competing in the PRCA competitions in
the future.
