Following the death of a fifth horse at Wolverhampton All Weather Race Course in the past few weeks the Jockey's Association Safety Officer has called for an official enquiry.
Dale Gibson from the Jockeys' Association has called for an investigation following the race on Monday which led to a five horse crash which led to three jockeys being taken to hospital.
Jockey's Tom Eaves, Paul Hanagan and Sophie Eaton were taken to the local hospital. It is reported that Tom Eaves has broken his arm.
Money For Fun, ridden by Joseph Walsh was three furlongs from home when he fell with a broken leg. This fall bought down four other horses in the process..
The Dunstall Park's Polytrack has now claimed five horse deaths since the start of the season in November.
An eye witness commented "It just looked like the sort of accident that could happen at any time,
on any track".
The race course at Dunstall Park, Wolverhampton is the UK's busiest race course and the first race course to be totally floodlit. Racing takes place throughout the year on the all weather course.
