In a continued spate of incidents in
the Newmarket area the original 1000 and
2000 Guineas Trophies have been stolen
from the home of Lord Fairhaven, former
senior steward of the Newmarket Race
Course.
Police have warned the racing
community in Newmarket to be on their
guard following this and the robbery at
Frankie Dettori's home in August this
year.
The 1,000 and 2,000 Guineas Trophies were the original trophies and
once belonged to the father of Lord Fairhaven.
During the late 1990's and into
2000's the two races were dominated by
Frankie Dettori and Kieren Fallon.
Kieren Fallon winning the 2,000 Guineas
in 2006, for the second year running,
and for the fourth time since 2000.
