Nearly 40 years after the 'mysterious' death of Snippy, the Appaloosa Mare's skeleton has been put on Ebay!
Snippy's death in 1967 was shrouded in mystery when stories grew about the horse being mutilated by aliens!!
Over the last 40 years San Luis Valley has become a haven for UFO spotters who believe that the Snippy incident was actually aliens coming. Hundreds of UFO sightings have been reported to the county sheriff over this time.
Reports back in 1967 suggested that there were indentations in the ground forming a circle three feet in diameter around the body of Snippy which was the landing place of the UFO. The owner at the time picked up a piece of the horses mane and it burned her hands. The boots that the owner had been wearing were found to be radioactive. The ground where Snippy was found would grow no grass two years after her death.
Dr Wallace Leary, the veterinary who reconstructed the skeleton in 1968 found two .22
calibre bullet holes in the horse.
The bidding for the skeleton on Ebay has been put on hold for legal reasons.
